HEConnect offers this Full Tuition Scholarship to honor the distinguished career and remarkable contributions of Jean-Marie Ntumba Kayembe a leading figure in the fields of pneumology, infectious disease surveillance, and higher education. As a Professor of Pneumology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kinshasa, and the Rector of the University of Kinshasa since 2022, Professor Ntumba Kayembe has made lasting strides in advancing academic research, medical education, and health leadership, both in the Democratic Republic of Congo and globally. In addition to his role at the University of Kinshasa, Professor Ntumba Kayembe is the Editor of Annales Africaines de Médecine and the Coordinator of SACIDS (Southern African Centre for Infectious Disease Surveillance). He is a member of prestigious organizations such as the European Respiratory Society (ERS), Société de Pneumologie de Langue Française (SPLF), Société Africaine de Pneumologie de Langue Française (SAPLF), and the Pan African Thoracic Society (PATS). Furthermore, he serves as the Chief of the Department of Lung Diseases at the University Hospital of Kinshasa, where his leadership continues to shape medical practices and education. This scholarship is designed to support students pursuing careers in medicine, health sciences, leadership, and academic research, particularly in areas related to respiratory diseases and infectious diseases. It aims to identify individuals with strong academic potential, leadership qualities, and a commitment to advancing healthcare and education in their communities.
