Welcome to the HEConnect Scholarship Application website. By accessing or using this website, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or apply for the HEConnect Scholarship.

1. Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the HEConnect Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Good Character: Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and a commitment to upholding high moral standards in all aspects of life.
  • Living for the Sake of Others: Exhibit a selfless attitude towards helping others and contribute to the betterment of your community.
  • Community Engagement: Actively engage in your community through volunteer work, leadership, or service-oriented initiatives that benefit others.
  • Academic Excellence: Show strong academic performance that reflects your dedication to learning and personal growth.
  • Innovative Initiative: Demonstrate the ability to think creatively and take action in addressing challenges or creating solutions within your community or academic environment.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Where applicable, showcase entrepreneurial spirit by starting initiatives, businesses, or projects that create value, solve problems, or improve the community.
  • Leadership Initiative: Where applicable, show proactive leadership in organizing or leading initiatives that drive positive change within your community or other relevant areas.
  • Veteran Status: If applicable, provide proof that one of your parents is or was a veteran of the FARDC.

2. Scholarship Application Process

  • Application Submission: You must complete the scholarship application form with accurate and up-to-date information. Submitting false or misleading information may result in disqualification.
  • Documents Required: You will need to submit certain documents, including but not limited to academic records, proof of community engagement, leadership initiatives, and parent/guardian veteran status (if applicable).
  • Application Fee: To proceed with the scholarship application review, an application fee must be paid. The review of your application will only begin once the application fee has been successfully paid.
  • Non-Refundable Fee: The application fee is non-refundable. Once the payment is made, it cannot be returned, regardless of the outcome of your application.
  • Review Process: Once the application fee is confirmed, your application will be reviewed by the HEConnect team, and you will be notified of the outcome within a reasonable time frame.
  • No Obligation to Approve: HEConnect is not bound to approve any application, and we reserve the right to reject or approve applications at our sole discretion. The decision regarding your application is final and will be communicated to you directly. HEConnect reserves the right to reject any application that does not meet the eligibility criteria or fails to provide accurate documentation.

3. Scholarship Award and Benefits

  • Award: If selected, you will receive the scholarship as described on the application page, which may include financial assistance, mentorship, or other benefits.
  • Non-transferable: The scholarship award is non-transferable and must be used by the recipient for the purposes specified by HEConnect.
  • Changes or Cancellation: HEConnect reserves the right to modify, cancel, or suspend the scholarship program at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, legal requirements, or other factors.
  • Review of Approved Applications: HEConnect reserves the right to periodically review the progress of approved scholarship recipients. If a student fails to maintain the required standards, such as good academic standing, active community engagement, or any other criteria outlined in the scholarship, HEConnect reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

  • Content You Submit: By submitting any content (such as essays, videos, photos, or other documents) as part of your scholarship application, you grant HEConnect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, reproduce, publish, or display that content for promotional and educational purposes. This includes the right to feature your story in HEConnect materials or on our website, social media, or YouTube channel.
  • HEConnect Content: All intellectual property related to the HEConnect Scholarship program, including the website design, logo, and branding, is the property of HEConnect. You may not use, copy, or alter any of HEConnect's intellectual property without prior permission.

5. Limitation of Liability

  • No Guarantees: HEConnect does not guarantee any particular outcome from applying for the scholarship, nor do we guarantee that all applicants will be selected.
  • Indemnification: By using this website, you agree to indemnify and hold HEConnect harmless from any claims, losses, damages, or legal fees arising from your use of the website, your application, or any violation of these Terms and Conditions.
  • No Liability for Errors: HEConnect will not be liable for any errors, interruptions, or delays in the functioning of the website, nor will we be responsible for any loss or damage to your personal data.

7. Subscription to HEConnect Success Stories YouTube Channel

By submitting your application, you agree to subscribe to the HEConnect Success Stories YouTube Channel. You acknowledge that subscribing to the channel is a part of the scholarship process and will allow you to stay updated on the success stories of past scholarship recipients, community engagement, and inspiring content that aligns with the values of HEConnect.

  • Subscription Requirement: It is a requirement to subscribe to the channel to be considered for the scholarship. Failure to subscribe may result in disqualification from the scholarship process.

8. Amendments to the Terms

HEConnect reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We recommend you review this page periodically for any updates. Continued use of the website after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms and Conditions.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
